BUSY WEEKS AHEAD!

Dear Parents,

Welcome back from Spring Break! We hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready to dive into the final stretch of the school year.

There are lots of exciting South School traditions coming up, so be sure to mark your calendars! This Friday, May 2 is Walk to School Day—a joyful tradition where students walk, bike, or scoot to school and join in the festivities, including dancing with South Paw, on the playgrounds.

We are also looking ahead to our Annual Art Show on May 8! We could use your help preparing the hallways—please see below for additional details and volunteer opportunities. Please consider lending a hand!

And don’t forget—Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5–9! That week we will celebrate the incredible faculty and staff who make South School such a special place. Keep an eye out for notes from your room parents and join us in showing our appreciation for these dedicated educators.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out at south.ptc@ncps-k12.org.

Warmly,

Amanda & Lindsay

A Special Thank You To:

Katie Bloom and Jaclyn Smith for organizing Hip Hop Fundamentals, an entertaining performing arts assembly. The group of dynamic and energetic dancers used dance and audience participation to explore Hip Hop’s rich cultural history and highlighted Hip Hop’s four principles: Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun!

Megan Dowd and Anna Zielinski for organizing and collecting textiles during the Earth Week Textile Recycling Drive. Also, thanks to our South parent community for bringing in over 70 bags of textiles that will be kept out of landfills!

Lyndsey Ryan for planning an afternoon for South families at Yankee Stadium!
