What Makes South School the Greatest School in Town?

In addition to our wonderful teachers and staff, what makes South School the greatest school in town is our community - a community of engaged and involved parents who understand the power of education in our children’s lives. The Parent Teacher Council (PTC) is South School’s greatest partner and champion in that cause. South School relies upon the PTC for supplemental financial support to provide the best educational opportunities and on-going programs, as well as yearly improvements to our school.

With that in mind, South School's annual fundraiser, The Giving Tree, runs through the month of October. All the funds raised are used to directly support our school and enrich the learning environment for our children. Every dollar we raise is important, and all donations are greatly appreciated! Examples of ongoing programs supported by the PTC include: Author Visits, STEAM Initiatives, Performing Arts Assemblies, Field Trips, Classroom Enhancements, Garden Activities, Book Fairs, and Parent Education - just to name a few. Some of the teacher and faculty grant requests funded in recent years include: extensive classroom libraries, tables, umbrellas and a shade tent for outdoor learning, playground equipment, water bottle filling stations, colorful hallway murals, and items to keep our children safely in school during the pandemic.

Thank you for helping to make make South School the very best it can be!
