Dear South School Families,

As we reflect back on this school year, we are so grateful for our extraordinary South School Community! Thank you to our incredible teachers, staff, and administrators for your unwavering dedication to our children. Thank you to our many volunteers for your time, leadership, and enthusiasm. And thank YOU - our amazing families - for your support, creativity, and partnership.

Before we break for summer, please mark your calendars with these important dates for the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year:    

August 22: Kindergarten Popsicle Playdate 3:00-4:00 pm - South Playground

August 25: Meet the Teacher/Classroom Visits (Grades 1-4) 10:30-11:00 am

August 26: First Day of School for students in Grades 1-4 and Kindergarten Meet the Teacher/Classroom Visits

August 27: First Day of School for Kindergarten students

September 1: No School (Labor Day)

September 12: PTC Welcome Back Coffee 9:30-11:00 am - South School

September 14: Fall Family Gathering 4:00-6:00 pm - Lower Playground

This is the last Paw Post of the school year. We hope everyone has a pawesome summer and congratulations to all Fourth Graders and their families as they move onward!

Lastly, please be sure to check out the lost and found for any items that may be yours. Any unclaimed items will be donated on June 13.

Jodie Azzopardi, Zed Hoffhine, and Lauren Nussbaum for a BRIGHT Fourth Grade Celebration! We are so grateful to this dream team that helped make it a fun, memorable day for our Fourth graders. Their time, energy, and creativity truly made it shine!

Katey Ryan and Tobey Wallace for another fun-filled Field Day. The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast. Thanks also to Josh MacDonald for putting on the “Best Day Ever,” as he says every year! 

Zed Hoffhine and Rachel Tomsky for leading a team of parent volunteers to keep the South School Library organized and well run. Also, a special thanks to Ali Bartlett, our wonderful Librarian, who always makes the library such an inviting place to be!

Shannon Thune and Emily Alexander for managing the School Supply Packs program and making sure all our students have the supplies they need for next year!

Lauren Schwarmann and Terria Meyer for their creative and welcoming bulletin boards all year!

Michelle Cardone, Amanda Weaver, Naddya Bischoff, and Pam Sweitzer for all of their hard work in creating a beautiful Memory Book for all South students to enjoy!

Katie-Bo Fisher and Andie Simatic for leading a team of volunteers in the Book Room and keeping the Book Room very organized!

Beth Torrenzano for a wonderful spring author visit with bestselling author R.J. Palacio!

Megan Kimball for being a terrific PTC Staff Liaison for another year!
