Survey for New Canaan Families with Children Ages 0-5

The Early Childhood Community Organization (ECCO) of Lower Fairfield County is a Local Governance Partner of the CT Office of Early Childhood and serves families of children 0-5 in New Canaan by developing programming and helping families navigate the early childhood systems. We've created a survey so we can hear from New Canaan families with children under 5 about your experience raising children in our community. Your answers will help us provide you with the parenting education programs & resources (i.e. postpartum support groups, early intervention info sessions, preschool fairs, etc.) that will be most useful. The 5-10 minute survey is ANONYMOUS and open through May 27. You can take the survey HERE.

Tech Tips for 4th Graders Transitioning to 5th!

As the school year winds down, many 4th grade parents are beginning to think about the transition to 5th grade. This shift can mean a change in schools, busier schedules and more independence which introduces the need for increased communication. As a result, it can be an inflection point when children may start asking for phones, watches or other means of digital communication. Check out New Canaan Unplugged's newsletter outlining some alternatives to giving your rising 5th grader a smartphone and how the benefits of holding off can be felt for years afterwards.
