Tory Hole Kids Book Club
Join Mather Homestead Kids Book Club and read Tory Hole! As part of the lead up to America 250 please join us for a book discussion on September 7th from 4pm-5:30pm for kids and families. Tory Hole was written by Darien resident Louise Hall Tharp about Tory raids during the Revolutionary War which took place in Darien and Stamford! Tickets can be found at www.matherhomestead.org. Circle of Care - Make Tracks for Kids with Cancer
Join the only statewide walk/run supporting all Connecticut families facing childhood cancer! Make Tracks for Kids with Cancer is a community-wide walk/run taking place at Sherwood Island State Park Westport CT on September 28th at 8 AM. Tickets are: $25-$30. The fun-filled event is held by Circle of Care, a local nonprofit that supports children with cancer and their families. Make Tracks has something for everyone, including a walk for all ages and abilities, a timed 5K for runners and joggers, and activities for families. Calling All Young Builders!
Do you keep finding Legos underfoot? Back for its fourth year, the New Canaan Museum’s Builder’s Challenge is asking all budding architects, engineers and builders to recreate their favorite real or imagined New Canaan spot in interlocking blocks (such as Lego or MegaBloks bricks). Kids’ creations will be displayed in local store windows throughout the month of October to celebrate New Canaan’s October4Design celebrating architecture, art, community and design. Starting September 3, come to the New Canaan Museum to sign up and receive a free baseplate to get you started – one per family please!
